BF75
Unveiled to the world in September 2006, Honda's BF75 has been completely redesigned where its high-performance gear case boasts a low 2.33:1 gear ratio.
This coupled with Honda's revolutionary Boosted Low Speed Torque (BLAST™) creates an explosive hole shot unlike anything ever before seen in four-stroke outboards.
Inspired by the same remarkable 1.5lt, SOHC, 16-valve, inline four-cylinder engine that powers Honda's number one selling motor vehicle, the ‘Jazz', the BF75's multi-port Programmed Fuel Injection (PGM-FI) system delivers top fuel economy in a very lightweight package.
In fact, with the exception of the cylinder sleeves, the engine boasts an all-aluminium alloy block, making the BF75 the lightest weight outboard engine in its class at just 162kg!
Honda's patented non-linear mounting system ensures ultra smooth operation at all speeds, while a patented 35amp alternator provides superior charging capacity.
The patented 4-Front Corrosion Protection also fights off corrosion from harsh marine environments to ensure extended engine life.
Lean Burn Control
Lean Burn Control utilises an oxygen (O²) sensor along with the Engine Command System (ECM) to automatically adjust the air/fuel mix according to speed and load while maximising power throughout the acceleration range and providing greater fuel economy while cruising (2500-4000rpm).
Features
- Voluntary Emission Labelling Scheme (VELS)
- High-performance gear case with a low 2.33:1 gear ratio, and revolutionary BLAST™ creates an explosive hole shot unlike anything ever before seen in four-stroke outboards
- Superior power-to-weight ratio and, at just 162kg, the lightest weight outboard engine in its class
- Multi-port Programmed Fuel Injection (PGM-FI)
- Best-in-class top end performance and fuel economy

BF115
At 2254cc, Honda's BF115 is the largest displacement outboard in its horsepower category. Equipped with state-of-the-art multi-port programmed fuel injection giving instant starts, excellent acceleration, smooth idling and much improved fuel economy.
A sophisticated engine alert system lets you see, hear, and feel a warning for overheating, low oil pressure, over-rev, battery condition, water-in-fuel, and critical engine functions.
By sharing many components with the Honda Accord, the BF115 offers years of proven Honda engineering, precision manufacturing and reliability. Standard long and extra long shaft lengths allow for a wider range of boat applications. The patented Honda non-linear mounting provides smoother operation at all engine speeds. The Honda BF115 also comes standard with a slow trolling speed of 650rpm and a high 40-amp alternator. The standard freshwater flush port allows easy flushing of the engine to clear debris and salt water, extending the life of the outboard.
Programmed Fuel Injection
Honda's Programmed Fuel Injection system optimises the air/fuel ratio and the injection timing to burn about 30% less fuel at cruising speed than that of conventional 2-stroke engines. And when you're trolling at low revs, that number is closer to 90%!
Features
- Voluntary Emission Labelling Scheme (VELS)
- At 2,254cc the BF115 is the largest displacement 4-stroke outboard in its horsepower category
- Even at the largest displacement in its class it also features the lowest idle speed, 650 RPM
- Programmed fuel injection
- “On Demand” 40 Amp belt-driven alternator

BF175
Honda's industry leading and large displacement BF175 features a compact 60° V6, 3.5 litre engine; with 24 valve Multi Point sequential fuel injection. Providing today's operators with the most technologically advanced outboard power available.
The heart of the BF175 is Honda's Engine Control Module. This manages all engine functions such as the variable air intake, ignition timing and idling speed. It also pilots the engine alert system in case of low oil pressure, over-heating, over-revving and water contamination in fuel for total worry-free boating.
Standard feature on the BF175 is an air feedback sensor and Honda's industry exclusive Lean Burn Feedback System. This reduces fuel consumption by five per cent over the previous models. Furthermore according to internal factory tests, fuel consumption is reduced by 14% over direct injection 2-stroke models and 10% over competing 4-stroke models.
Alternator output is the highest amongst it competitors. It provides "on demand" 60 amps, enough to run all necessary electronic equipment on board, while using less crankshaft horsepower.
Thanks to the 60 degree V6 engine and its sleek streamline design, the BF175 will suit a broad variety of boats, in single or twin applications.
